Differing opinion polls ?

Found two opinion polls on the net for Uttarakhand Polls :

Seat Projections:

Congress is projected to win 31-35 out of a total of 70 seats in Uttarakhand, while BJP comes second with a projection to win 20-24 seats, the pre-poll survey report said.

"In Uttrakhand, where BJP had 35 seats in the outgoing house, is increasing its tally to 39. This is against expectations that the party would do badly in face of serious charges of corruption against the government and the party had to replace the chief minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank with Gen BS Khanduri. Though Congress is getting only 29 seats, it is still up from its last time’s tally of 21."

How does one believe these surveys and opinion polls!!

Is Google in forever beta?

Number of Google products that have been released off late haven't had such a charmed run. Be it Nexus1 or Wave or now Buzz.. all have some basic issues left un-addressed by the Google.

Looks like beta is a way of life at Google :)

But good thing is that Google does listen to customers more often than not ...

Maya strikes a right note with I-T returns


This news is bit intriguing for me ...

Enquiries showed Mayawati sold her 2, Sardar Patel Marg house for Rs 60 crore and made a gain of Rs 42 crore within one year of its purchase. She had purchased the house in 2006 for about Rs 18 crore.

Mayawati has paid 30 per cent tax on her short term capital gain, which comes to around Rs 12 crore. The transaction has been reflected and justified in her I-T return, according to authoritative sources.

First of all .. why would she sell the house??
Secondly .. both buying and selling prices may not be right prices?

Why this transaction? Does this deal allow her to account for Rs. 42 crore now in her books?
Just wondering if this is jugglery or new tax paying avataar of our politicians?

Why Indian Politicians go to Mauritius ..?

Saw the news about Uttarakhand Chief Minister visiting Mauritius..
Wonder why?
Mauritius is famous as haven for tax evading companies (people ?) ...

Die This way

Me and my flatmate somehow ended up discussing how to die. not that we compel each other to the thought. My flatmate wanted to die in his sleep without any pain. Wishing not to wake up on certain monday morning I guess.
I disagreed as it wont be fulfilling for me to die without saying goodbyes and finishing the things not yet done. So I proposed a combination of hitech and ancient.
in vaidic times there existed vanprastha and sanyas ashram. Which meant that after age of 50 one was planning a stairway to heaven of sorts. So I would want to do the same but at a different age ( as these days only around 50 one gets to enjoy life). I shall say my goodbyes to all near and dear ones and head for my pilgimage. then comes a tech thing, I shall fit myself with somekind of gadget that would send everyone an SMS the moment I make my exit from the planet earth in spirit ( with perfect GPS location of my remains).

what if it was a woman's world?

women go to great lengths in making themselves attractive. showing the right parts that would attract men like moth to the flame. Scientists have invented surgeries to help women in this quest. all this is blamed on male oriented view of the world.

was wondering as to what would men be doing if it was a woman's world? what parts they would be flaunting and what surgeries would be invented for men ( as if salman khan is not showing the way already )?

food and sex

i was watching one programme on BBC where they were trying to show problems of overweight people. one woman was telling that she keeps thinking about food all the time and that has led to her current state. was wondering how it would work too much thinking of food.. leads to eating of too much food..hence the extra fat. i guess that happens because food is easily accessible to people. just think what would happen of sex was as easiliy available as food..
